ReplyDeleteRule 1
Life is never fair because you don’t always get what you want. It is hard to get used to because when you don’t get what you want or don’t have it your way then people always tend to get mad because of it. But when someone is always treated like everything is fair to them then they can’t always go wrong it has to be there way.
Rule 2
The only person that cares about your self esteem is yourself. Yes you should do something that is big in your family or maybe even bigger. If you do that then people will start giving you compliments and then you start feeling good.
Rule 3
Yes this is right because right after you get out of high school then you have to go to college to get a good job so that you can get paid that much or maybe more. The way that you earn it is education so you just don’t drop out or do bad
Rule 4
I think that my teacher is tougher just because there always on you and making sure you’re doing everything right. That’s the same thing with the boss but there not always there to tell you what to do. So when the boss is not there then that allows you sometimes to slack off. So I think that a teacher would be harder than a boss.
Rule 5
Flipping burgers is not what I want to do that’s the worst thing. If you do that then you get made fun of by your friends because they get paid more than you do and look better. So that’s why you have to finish high school so that you get a better job than flipping burgers at a fast food restaurant.
Rule 6
Sometimes it is but most the time it is not their fault. But whenever you make a mistake then you just learn from it and try not to do it again. Whenever you whine about your mistakes then it just makes everything worse and you will most likely end up doing it again. So if you just be tough about it then it won’t happen.
Rule 7
I am always nice on my mom she is the one that mean on me. When my mom was a teenager I couldn’t imagine what she was doing. When my mom use to wash my clothes I was being mean to her and telling her to do it, and she finally got sick of it and made me wash my own clothes.
Rule 8
So yes sometimes failing is right to some kids in school but not me at all. In the real world then you should never be failing unless you live on the streets. So whenever you get a job you shouldn’t fail you can make mistakes but then fix them.
Rule 9
So yes on your own time you should find your own job and not have people telling you what to do. Mom or dad shouldn’t tell you to get a job you should just get up and go get one by yourself. I think that if your upper classmen or even older then you should be able to do things by yourself.
Rule 10
Yes you may watch TV when you have free time but when you got to go to work and do more important things then watch TV then you should leave the TV alone. BY saying leaving the coffee shop it’s still a job.
Rule 11
I am never mean to nerds usually I am the one helping them and making sure that nobody Is picking on them. Yes people tend to usually have nerds as bosses just for the fact than they are super smart and no everything.
The gap between teachers and students is not separated only by age and intelligence, but also the brain and its functions. Teenagers are growing physically and mentally in their adolescent years just like they were when they were babies. Teachers can adapt to teenagers in three ways, by putting themselves in the students position, learning the issues of the teenage brain, and changing lesson plans to work for both the teacher and student.
ReplyDeleteA very popular argument that teenagers use constantly as an excuse for work at home and at school is that they are being singled out and the world is against them. In the first chapter of the video there is a piece with the family, where the son asks the father if he ever had rules like the ones he enforces when he was growing up. If teachers put themselves in positions where the student was, they could understand that even though it may be fair in the adult world, a teenager believes it is not. Though teachers should adapt students as well should realize adults are just trying to help them.
Also there is the issue of the teenage brain. The video gives examples of a new discovery that the brain is growing in the adolescent stage, which complicates things for the teenager. It would be a good idea for the teacher to learn how these changes work, how it affects the mind and its processes like remembering to do homework or creating mood swings.
Finally there is the compromise that would help the teachers accommodate students fully. In the last chapter of the video it is stated that the relationships and the people around the teen are what they need most. Even though it may not seem that the teenagers want attention and help, it is what they want and what they need most.
With all the information on the teenage brain and how it is changing during adolescence it is hard for others to fully comprehend it all. Though if teachers put themselves in the position of the student, learn what is going on inside their head, and effectively help them then the relationship between the teacher and student will be positive and helpful.
